Role-Based Access Control¶
Role-based access control (RBAC) ensures every team member has access to the features and data they need — and nothing more.
DPC Pro assigns permissions based on roles rather than individual user settings. Each role — Manager, Clinician, Staff — comes with a defined set of permissions that control access to clinical records, billing, settings, reports, and other features. This approach reduces configuration overhead and maintains consistent access boundaries across your team.
This page covers how RBAC works in DPC Pro, what permissions each role includes, and how access control protects patient data. For step-by-step instructions on assigning roles, see the Staff Roles and Permissions page.
Proper access control is both a security best practice and a HIPAA requirement. DPC Pro's role system helps your practice meet both.
